Save our history

This is the Miag-ao Church, just 40 kilometers southwest of Iloilo City and it is probably one of the most beautiful churches I’ve seen yet. Seeing this photo in my archives reminds me of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Bohol and Cebu last October 15, killing hundreds of lives and destroyed hundreds of structures such as our historical Churches. It should serve as a wake up call for all of us that these structures are prone to calamities such as earthquakes. They have been a part of our heritage and the center of our culture and history, which we must find a way to save these magnificent historical treasures.
